Child and Adolescent Psychology
Dr. Kovner has extensive knowledge in child cognitive and personality development. As a Psychologist he was trained to deliver clinical services. He has worked in school, mental health clinics, hospital settings and private practice. He has professional expertise in behavioral research and theory, child development, intellectual disability, learning disability, social psychology, learning and memory, personality, treatment of major mental illnesses, consultation and tests and measurement. Dr. Kovner did his doctoral dissertation on Dyslexia. He has performed thousands of psychological evaluations of children, adolescents, college students and adults for ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Behavior and Emotional Disorders. He uses Cognitive and Behavior Therapy, as well as Play and Music Therapies to treat children and adolescents with a variety of internalizing and externalizing disorders including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, oppositional-defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and other maladies which commonly affect children and teens.
